Description
The study demonstrates the profound impact of niobium (Nb) doping on the structural, optical, morphological, and photovoltaic properties of TiO₂-based photoanodes. Structural analysis through X-ray diffraction confirms the effective incorporation of Nb into the TiO₂ lattice, as indicated by slight increases in crystallite size and reductions in cell volume and lattice parameters, leading to a modified crystal structure. UV-Vis spectroscopy reveals that Nb doping enhances light absorption and increases the energy band gap from 2.19 eV for undoped TiO₂ to 2.41 eV for samples doped with 1.5 wt% and 2 wt% Nb, improving their suitability for UV-responsive applications.
