Description
This study explores the transformative effects of biochar and hydrochar amendments on the physiochemical properties of unsuitable soils and the germination rate of Khon Kean 3 sugarcane bud seeds under harsh conditions of unsustainable soils in sugarcane cultivation. Biochar and hydrochar, derived from bagasse carbonization and hydrothermal carbonization, were applied to unsuitable soils, resulting in notable improvements in soil structure, pH, nutrient content, physical growth, chemical growth, percent brix, and moisture capacity. Preliminary findings reveal a significant enhancement in the germination rate of Khon Kean 3 sugarcane bud seeds, suggesting the potential of these carbonaceous amendments to ameliorate adverse environmental conditions and contribute to sustainable agriculture. This research underscores the promising role of biochar and hydrochar in fostering soil resilience and promoting crop establishment in challenging environments.
